As far as Twitter is concerned, this channel is important because of the fact that it has a lot of hashtags that people use. These hashtags, if used appropriately, can really take your marketing to a new level because it can expose you to a lot of potential customers for the product or service you are trying to market for.
Google is important because what people are searching for can be quite illuminating since it can tell you what areas you need to focus on as well, so checking out Google search trends will help you ascertain what your marketing should incorporate in the new year in order to get as much visibility as possible.
Thanks to the team at SEMrush who recently shared a study highlighting top content marketing trends from the past year. According to their study, here are the top hashtags used with content marketing in 2019. #digitalmarketing was used in 71% of marketing campaigns, this should be an important part of your focus next year. Coming in second is #marketing which was used in 52% of Tweets related to this subject, and #seo (search engine optimization) is coming in at third with 36%. This shows that people are taking a more literal approach to marketing, something that should tell you how you should be working in the new year as well.
Search queries are also important, but they are less all encompassing than tweets. 29% of queries had the term strategy in them, so this is something that your content should ideally end up having if you want it to be successful. Social media was also used in 11% of search queries, and SEO comes in at a close third with 10%. The rest of the search queries don’t have very high percentages but are still important, such as statistics with 5% as well as blogging and content ideas with 4% each.
