Influencer marketing has heavily been under the spotlight in the past couple of years, with the rise of social media usage by millennials trying to promote brand and products that they seem to believe it.

Since influencer marketing is a fairly new domain of digital marketing, questions around its regulation, monitoring and revenue stream always come up as topics of debate. Perhaps, it’s not immediately as clear as the other areas of digital marketing, in terms of how influencers make money or whether they should be making money at all.

Influencer marketing has increasingly become a full-time profession for some, so it’s only obvious that they’d be monetising the platform and generating sufficient income through it. So how do influencers actually make money?

It’s important to explore the top revenue streams for influencer marketing, to build a successful influencer marketing strategy for your brand. Recently, Kite surveyed 212 influencers across a variety of industries, to learn how they generate revenue. Respondents had no fewer than 10,000 followers on Instagram and/or Twitter, or a minimum of 185,000 subscribers on YouTube.
