It’s a new year, and Twitter’s helping to kick off your social media marketing efforts for 2018 by releasing their January major events calendar.
Twitter started publishing their monthly events calendars last year, highlighting all the key discussions likely to generate significant attention on the platform, along with tweet volume figures from the past year.
So which dates should you be aware of in January?
As noted by Twitter:
“Whether they’re technology fans who can’t wait for #CES2018 or music lovers hoping to see their favorite artists win at the #Grammys, there are lots of events happening this month. With numerous sporting, entertainment, and global events happening there are plenty of opportunities for your brand to show your personality on Twitter with relevant content.”
Indeed, tapping into these events can help boost awareness and tweet reach – when done right. By ‘done right’, we’re obviously talking about relevance and fit – sure, there are ways to shoehorn certain events with surreal comedy or the like, but for the most part, you’re best sticking with the topics that relate to your brand and/or core business, and participating in the wider conversation where relevant.
There’s a range of opportunities in January – from sports to movies to tech. Worth taking note to help jump-start your 2018 strategy.
