We’re moving into the home stretch – there’s only four months left in 2017. If you haven’t started planning out your holiday campaigns, now is the time, but for the immediate future, Twitter has released the latest version of its monthly event calendar to help you tap into the latest, most tweet-worthy events.
So what major events are likely to trend on Twitter in September?
As you can see, there’s a heap of trending events in the month, and a range of opportunities for brands.
This month, Twitter has slightly changed up the format of their calendar, adding more prominent listings for multi-day events, and highlighting more ‘days’ – like ‘Charity Day’, ‘Literacy Day’ and most importantly, ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’. That’s good, because each of these days provides another opportunity to focus your messaging, another trigger of inspiration to help engage your audience.
In terms of other events of note, there’s also the return of the NFL, the Emmy Awards, Fashion Weeks in New York, London and Paris, and ‘International Podcast Day’, which will obviously have relevance for any business producing a podcast (or maybe thinking of launching one).
Twitter’s been publishing major events calendars all year, helping to prompt marketers with new ideas for their outreach. One of the key benefits of Twitter’s listings, as opposed to other event calendars, is that Twitter also includes the tweet volume for each major event, based on last year’s figures. This provides even more context as to when you should be looking to get involved.
Use the listing to latch onto the latest relevant events with your tweets – and don’t forget to start planning out that Christmas strategy. It’ll be here sooner than you think.
