The Ultimate Gimp 2.10 Guide from Udemy presents potential students that have never taken a Udemy course with a unique opportunity. There aren’t a lot of free courses available from Udemy, and most of the ones that are are relatively short and often cover not particular useful material. Hence why they are free. As you may have guessed at this point, especially from the title of this article, The Ultimate GIMP 2.10 Guide from Udemy is a free course that’s unlike any others I’ve seen to date from Udemy.

This course is taught by Bernard’t Hooft, who has made a total of four free courses on Udemy. These courses are targeted at teaching you how to use GIMP photo editing software, a highly regarded program used by amateur and professional image editors alike. The course we are looking at today also isn’t short; it’s a full seven-hour course broken up into 74 lectures. It fares exceedingly well in both its information and presentation.

Course Overview

The course moves a bit slow for my personal taste, as a few lectures seem overly simple and probably unnecessary. Lectures 2 and 5, in particular, stand out here; they show you how to install GIMP and open files, respectively. But the bulk of these lessons are detailed, useful, and relevant to a wide range of audiences. I work in GIMP on a daily basis to edit images for publication on ExtremeTech and PCMag, and yet I still found this course teaching me how to use GIMP better, which will undoubtedly help speed up my editing process.

As the course runs for a total of seven hours, diving into each section of the course would make this review exceedingly long, but as a short summary know that the course touches heavily on customizing GIMP’s user interface to fit your needs. It also goes over how to install plugins, and how to use many of the various tools built-in to GIMP by default.

It’s also worth noting that lecturer Bernard’t Hooft is easily one of the best lecturers I’ve experienced while reviewing Udemy courses. He clearly pronounces each word in a calm and decisive manner. He also doesn’t stray off topic with unnecessary information.

Conclusion

In short, The Ultimate GIMP 2.10 Guide from Udemy is without a doubt the best Udemy course I’ve taken to date. I’m not just saying this because it’s free either; that’s just a bonus. The course is well organized, informative, professionally presented, and it covers an extremely useful topic. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to edit images, this is an excellent place to start. It’s also a smart place to start if you’ve never taken a Udemy course before and want to see what it’s like before paying out for another course. While Udemy classes vary greatly from course to course, the system used is still the same.
