Mnet has released an official statement regarding the controversy involving former JYP trainee Yun Seo Bin.
On May 8, a source from Mnet stated, “Yun Seo Bin has decided to leave [“Produce X 101″]. As a result, the production team plans to edit out Yun Seo Bin as much as possible.” The source continued, “We will minimize Yun Seo Bin’s appearance [in the program] so that it does not affect other trainees.”

JYP Entertainment has confirmed they are terminating their contract with trainee Yun Seo Bin, a contestant on Mnet’s “Produce X 101.”
On May 8, JYP Entertainment stated that they believe their company’s values were not upheld and announced their decision to terminate their contract with Yun Seo Bin. They added, “As a result, [Yun Seo Bin] will also be leaving [‘Produce X 101’].”
The termination follows recent, conflicting posts about the trainee, with some claiming that he had been a violent school bully since middle school and others denying those claims.
After the first episode of “Produce X 101,” which aired on May 3, Yun Seo Bin came in No. 12 in realtime rankings, even though his evaluation performance had not yet aired.
The official statement from JYP Entertainment reads as follows:
Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
This is an official statement regarding trainee Yun Seo Bin.
After determining that the policies of JYP Entertainment are not being followed, we have decided to terminate the contract of trainee Yun Seo Bin, who is currently appearing on Mnet’s ‘Produce X 101.’ As a result, he will also be leaving the program.
