The Lincoln County Commissioners on Monday signed off on a bid from Hollman Media to revamp the Visit North Platte website.
“Ours is 5 years old so it’s pretty dated,” said Lisa Burke with the Lincoln County/North Platte Visitors Bureau.
Two other companies made bids to upgrade the website. The tourism bureau’s advisory board selected the company by factoring cost and company reputation.
The project will cost around fifteen thousand dollars. A large focus will be on search engine optimization and user friendliness.
“Just a more modern, up-to-date look,” said Burke. “You just have to redo that (websites) very often to keep up with the new technology and new look. It will be a sleeker, quicker design.”
The community calendar will still be available while the new website is being created. Work is excepted to be finished on it by March.
