There’s a fun Google Pixel 4 easter egg hidden on the retail box of the device. If you pre-ordered a Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL, you should have it by now, and you can check it out by following some simple steps.

The Google Pixel 4 easter egg is activated through Google Lens. Just fire up Google Lens on any smartphone (it doesn’t need to be the Pixel 4, nor does it even need to be an Android device) and use it to scan the back of the Pixel 4 retail box.
Once you do, the retail box will appear to come alive and show you a nice little welcome greeting with plenty of #teampixel slogans. When the animation ends, you’ll see a link to follow @googlepixel on Instagram. Tapping anywhere on your display will open up that Insta account for you to quickly hit the follow button.

While there’s nothing revelatory about this Google Pixel 4 easter egg, it’s a nice touch by the Google hardware team. It makes buyers feel like they have something special while also acting as an interesting demo of what Google Lens does and what it is capable of. And hey, Google gets some Instagram followers, so it’s a win-win for everyone.
