WDS at WordCamp Riverside

Still reeling from the excitement of WordCamp US, our journey to give back to WordPress and the community continues as WebDevStudios (WDS) Senior Backend Engineer, Keith Frey, heads to WordCamp Riverside, November 8-10, 2019 in Riverside, California. His talk, “Headless WordPress and You: A Practical Guide to Headless WordPress,” takes place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 10th in Innovation.

WordCamp Riverside kicks off with Beginner’s Day on November 8th. The conference continues with two days of WordPress education and information that includes subjects such as how to market your business using WordPress, SEO, and even a panel discussion on accessibility. Lunch will be provided, and on Saturday evening, there is an after-party. Both are great opportunities to network and make new friends. See the full schedule here.

Keith Frey, Senior Backend Engineer

Headless WordPress is a hot topic that everyone is talking about and one that Keith felt needed to be addressed at this WordCamp.

“I chose to speak on headless WordPress because headless setups are what I’ve been getting the most questions about lately,” Keith explains. “My goal is to explain what headless WordPress is, its pros and cons and its uses in a clear, concise and easy to understand way. Hopefully attendees will come away with an understanding of those things.”

Being involved in the WordPress community is important to WDS, which is why you’ll find us actively involved in Five for the Future, an initiative designed to give back. Keith finds this type of involvement motivating.

“The people here at WDS really inspired me to speak at WordCamp Riverside,” he says. “Seeing everyone else’s involvement in the community made me want to become more a part of it, as well.”

Every WordCamp presents a unique set of possibilities—the chance to find a partner to help with the development of a new plugin, a potential future client, or maybe even a career opportunity. Anything can happen at a WordCamp Riverside.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to know more people in my local WordPress community so that I can continue to grow and hopefully I can help others grow, too,” says Keith.

There are still tickets available! So if you’re in the Riverside area, consider checking out the event. But if you can’t make it, follow the event’s profile on Twitter at @WordCampRS and the hashtag #WCRS. Find more information on WordCamps at Central.WordCamp.org.
