What makes a product launch successful : marketing


Recently, the company I work for, is planning a new product launch and we came up with this strategy. I would like you to take a look and come up with suggestions/comments to ensure the launch is successful.

  1. Make pre-event posts, video teasers on our social media channels – to keep our followers informed, engaged.

  2. Create a contest – to get to a wider audience, we intend to create a contest where the winner will be chosen randomly. The goal is to get the most shares and likes on the post

  3. Write a blog article about the upcoming product launch and email it to our newsletter subscribers

  4. Create a banner for the homepage with the product launch details (countdown) – whoever lands on our website, can stay informed

  5. Create ads on social media channels – and boost one of the pre-event posts to target our audience who isn’t following us yet

  6. Live stream the product launch – Apple, Google, GoPro successfully live streamed their product launches so we can, too. Of course, we are not that big but still. Our audience will be interested in it. we might even embed the live stream to our website

  7. Add the product to Product Hunt – and share the link with our leads and customers to like, comment if they have anything to say

  8. Create post-event videos, posts, emails and offer 30% off for the early adopters of the product.

Have I missed anything? Is there anything else that can be done? I used a similar technique for another company and it was successful. But times change and engaging audience becomes more challenging. I want to be sure I have done my best.
