The White House staff being in a fit of rage due to Barack Obama being invited to the Royal Wedding of England’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after Donald Trump was denied is fake news. There is no truth to a report that staff in The White House are furious over news that Obama received an invitation to the Royal Wedding when Trump did not. Obama and Trump have been the subject of many fake news, tweets, photographs and memes. This is just the latest in a long list of them.
Where did this fake news originate? Politicsspot.com published the fake news article reporting that Harry and Markle invited Obama to their wedding and not Trump. The fake news opened:
According to reports, Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle have rejected the advice of politicians and diplomats, and have invited former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle to attend their wedding at Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19. Donald Trump did not receive an invitation, …
However, there is no truth to the above story. It is true that Prince Harry is planning to marry Markle on May 19, and the wedding has attracted attention on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. As for the fake news article, it was based largely on a report from the Daily Star, a British tabloid, that quoted an unnamed “Royal source” saying that Obama was invited to the wedding. That report also was published more than a month before the invitations were sent out the week of March 23.
Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

FactCheck.org reported that the royal family has not made the guest list public. The Political Voice’s wedding story was also copied by several other dubious websites. FactCheck also noted that the only instance of a sitting president being invited to a royal wedding in the last 75 years was when former President Ronald Reagan was invited to the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer in 1981. However, he did not attend, but his wife, First Lady Nancy Reagan did.
