WordCamp Philly Will Be Spooktacular!

That WordCamp jawn, also known as WordCamp Philly, happens this weekend, October 28-29. Because the event takes place the weekend before Halloween, attendees and speakers are highly encouraged to sport their favorite Halloween costumes. There will be a costume contest, after all, making this WordCamp destined for spooktacular surprises.

WebDevStudios (WDS) will not only be there, but we have one team member presenting, one on a panel, and one who is on the event’s organizing team. Heck, even our WordPress maintenance and support company, Maintainn, is a sponsor. Now that is some hardcore WordCamp involvement right there!

Brad Williams, CEO and Co-Founder

As the original founder of the Philly WordPress Meetup and a past co-organizer of the first five WordCamp Philly events, WDS CEO and Co-Founder, Brad Williams, returns as a panel member for the session “The WordPress Economy.” Catch that at 1:30 p.m on Saturday. Other panel members include Lou Fuiano, Tom Rose, and Kim Coleman, with Tara Claeys acting as moderator.

Lisa Sabin-Wilson, COO and Co-Founder

WDS COO and Co-Founder, Lisa Sabin-Wilson, is presenting “Systems for Success: Revenue Doesn’t Mean Sh*t if You’re Not Profitable” also on Saturday at 11:40 a.m. on the Business/Freelance track. Learn about the systems that can be implemented to support new business, control costs, and improve revenues.

Jodie Riccelli, Client Strategist

This is the third time that WDS Client Strategist, Jodie Riccelli, has volunteered for the WordCamp Philly organizing team. Not only did she select the speaker gifts this year (it’s rumored that she enjoys shopping), Jodie also organized the speaker and after parties. She’s not revealing details, though, just offering a vague quip, “It’s Halloween weekend in Philly. Who knows what could happen?” Is your interest piqued, yet?

Tickets are still available, and let’s face it. What better way to spend Halloween weekend than on the East Coast with a bunch of WordPress jawns? And, if you run into Brad, Lisa, or Jodie, don’t hesitate to chat. They enjoy talking WordPress, design, and development. Plus, Jodie is an expert foodie with all the best Philadelphia recommendations.

However, if you absolutely cannot make the event (and you’re just hiding out in your home because you’re afraid of ghosts, chicken), then follow all the WordCamp Philly goodness on Twitter: @WordCampPhilly and #wcphilly. Find out where WDS will be next! Visit the WDS Gives Back page and scroll down to see which events WDS will be attending.
