8:15 pm UPDATE: The Yahoo Mail outage continues with users still unable to get their messages.
Yahoo has now confirmed the issues with a message on Twitter saying: “You may not be able to access Yahoo Mail at the moment. Our top priority right now is getting this fixed. We appreciate your patience during this time.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Yahoo Mail is a hugely popular email client across the world.
But this evening the service appears to be suffering from a major outage affecting hundreds.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 1,400 reports at one time from users insisting Yahoo Mail is not working as normal.
Over 60 percent of those reports came from individuals claiming they were unable to log in to the service. Thus preventing them from checking their inbox.
One user said: “Only adverts are loading Nothing on home page and no access to email; at all.”
Another posted online: “I thought I was going mad, but no Yahoo Mail is down again.”
A third declared: Is Yahoo Mail down in the UK?
“Need to see a time sensitive thing and I can’t get in there.”
The issue in question appears to be affecting Yahoo Mail’s desktop edition. Express.co.uk is able to use the client’s mobile app without any issues at the time of writing.
Yahoo has not yet commented on the reported outage.
